Well, not for the first time, we have had an interesting weekend consisting of another big home win, a controversial away trip and tremendous excitement at Craig Cook's successful attempt at securing the Wild Card for the GB Grand Prix at Cardiff!

Last Friday, Plymouth's challenge failed to materialize and, like the previous week, a visiting team had only one race winner. Indeed, their number ones and British Finalists scored only ten points both weeks! The match, however, will be remembered for the unbeaten five rides from our gladiator Maximus Frickus! The first of many I think. What a grin that laddie has when he's happy! Then it was down to Workington to visit the Comets for the second time this season. Events from the meeting are well documented elsewhere so I'm not going to add anything but I'm so glad Kyle Howarth hasn't broken anything. Apparently he is returning to the track very soon. Now, what about Monday evening! Our very own Cookie is Wild Card for the Cardiff Grand Prix! I think I might now consider going down for it. I've never attended a Grand Prix (although I have been to a few World Finals) and the prospect starts to excite me! Not good at my age!

Now that I've got my breath back, I'm looking forward to driving down to Sheffield on Thursday for the second leg of the League Cup semi-final. Not wanting to count my chickens as they say but I can't see them turning over a thirty-five point deficit! Of course we'll be looking for the win! We won't know the other finalist until mid-July but secretly I hope it's Workington! Peterborough will think otherwise. I see from their fixture list we are going down there on Sunday 20th July (at 5pm) after visiting Berwick the night before.

So to this coming Friday and the visit of the Rye House Rockets spearheaded by yet another unsuccessful Grand Prix wild card aspirant Edward Kennett. Also in the team will be Jason Garrity who did have a good meeting at Wolverhampton. Let's hope they can give us a bit of a challenge!

So, until then, I hope you have a wonderful week and will be in good spirits when we chat as you come in. Be good and take care.
