FIRST SCOTTISH DERBY OF THE SEASON

Monarchs and Tigers will have their first clash of the season away from the speedway track, a football match at Murieston on 14th March to raise funds for the Ricky Ashworth Benefit.

Included in the impressive playing pools at the moment are Derek Sneddon for Monarchs James Grieves for the Tigers. The door isn’t closed for new players we understand, but more than that it’s supporters who are requested to support the event.

Derek used to joke with Ricky that they always tangled up when they met on track, so it’s no surprise that he is happy to turn out for this cause.

Former Bandit and Sheffield Tiger Ricky is of course still recovering from the crashes in 2013 which left him in a coma for so long. He has had a benefit meeting at Berwick and there will be another at Sheffield on Sunday 22nd March.

There will be plenty of opportunity to contribute to the funds on the day of the football match, including donation of raffle or auction prizes.
