The Border Roofing Monarchs now have their own consultant orthopaedic surgeon, courtesy of the team sponsors!

Neil Miller, who was the man who helped Sam get himself fitter for the crucial end of season matches, has offered his services to the club should there be any further problems. He specialises in shoulder, collar bone and ankle injuries.

He said “Eddie mentioned the possibility of helping out in the future and I would be happy to do that.

“I knew nothing about speedway before. I treated Eddie as a patient and he then asked me about helping Sam, so that was the first I’d heard of it.

“I first met Eddie when some tiles fell off my roof, and he said he had a sore shoulder, so we helped each other!

“I gave Sam a consultation and he needed an injection in the shoulder. He was in a bit of pain so we managed to make him feel better.

“Sam’s a very nice guy I enjoyed meeting him, and I was pleased to hear he had done well in the Championship Final and the Grand Prix. I look forward to seeing some speedway next season.”
