On Friday 6th July Armadale Stadium will welcome the return of the Caledonian Riders' Championship in association with Linlithgow Tyres and Exhausts, and Bert Harkins.

Last year's event proved to be one of the most talked about meetings of the season, won by then Monarch Max Clegg, and we are delighted that we have been able to keep it in our schedule for the 2018 season.

The event is aimed at giving younger, less experienced riders a chance to show their skills in a competitive field against more established National League and Championship riders.

Last year we were able to blood a number of Scottish youngsters and this year we are delighted to say that a third of the line-up will be made up of Scottish riders.

The growth and development of our home grown riders is something that is hugely important to the club and for the sport in Scotland, and Staggs Bar Monarchs Commercial Manager Scott Frame is hoping to build on the success of last year's event.

Scott said, "The 2017 event was a step into the unknown in many ways. We didn't know how it would be received and we were curious to see just how close some of our Scottish youngsters could get to the more established riders.

"Without doubt the biggest success story of the event was Dale Lamb. He stepped up and had an excellent meeting and qualified for the semi-finals.

"I know that meeting gave him huge confidence and he has progressed further this season in the Northern Junior League. It's been wonderful to see and now I see he's been racing in some National League matches.

"I'm very happy with the line-up we have put together. I think it will be a real battle for top spot and I can't see anything other than a competitive night of racing.

"Max Ruml will take his place as the only Monarchs rider in the field but he'll be up against some top riders from the National League and youngsters from the Championship.

"It will be a big test for Max and I have no doubt he won't have things all his own way. He'll have to fight in every heat.

"All in all, I'm delighted with the line-up we've put together and I'm looking forward to a big family fun night where fans can come along and watch the future of our sport from across the globe."

Caledonian Riders Championship Line-Up: Max Ruml, Dale Lamb, Jordan Stewart, Ryan MacDonald, Danyon Hume, William Lawson, Coty Garcia, Lewis Miller, Tom Bacon, Luke Ruddick, Nathan Greaves, Jacob Buckhave.
