Season 1994 Joins EMTV+

Monarchs are very pleased to add 1994 to the seasons available for subscribers to the EMTV+ channel. This was the penultimate season at Powderhall Stadium, and quite a successful one for the club.

We had Les Collins, Kenny McKinna, Scott Lamb, Jan Andersen, Vesa Ylinen and Lawrence Hare in the ranks and with a track surface fairly deep and damp, it allowed the likes of Les and Lol to pull off some spectacular overtakes.

At the end of the year we met the all-conquering Glasgow in the KO Cup final, the first leg of which drew over 3,000 to Powderhall. It was a great occasion which was highly publicised in the Scottish press. We also have the second leg available on EMTV+ because that was filmed by us.

Even though the Powderhall leg started with that incredible ride by Les, it's not the meeting I am selecting to recommend to you as the best one to watch. Of all the Scottish Opens we have on film, I don't think there are any better than the event on 10th June 1994. Much of this was due to Ipswich's Ben Howe but there were many riders involved in some great racing.
