Edinburgh Monarchs
The Stellar Monarchs showed welcome improvement at Poole (Wednesday) after a disappointing result on Tuesday, and they will be well aware that everyone needs to be on song as they prepare for the Friday night visit of the Redcar Bears to Armadale.
The Bears made a poor start to their season with injuries and four early home defeats, but they are at full strength now and riding well home and away. They have a double spearhead of Charles Wright and Danny King and plenty of youthful talent in backup.
Monarchs rode well at Poole and might well have done even better than their 40 point score, but for some annoying pieces of bad luck plus a totally uncharacteristic bad night for no. 1 Josh Pickering.
Team manager Alex Harkess was much boosted by the display at Poole and said "Having beaten Scunthorpe and Oxford at Armadale, who were the top two at the time, we can deal with Redcar who are not that far ahead of us. I felt we should have done better in our away match at Redcar, and was disappointed we didn't win. I would like to think we will get the three points available to us on Friday."
Friday's match will be Live Streamed for those who cannot attend, details on www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk.
