The What the Fork Monarchs are in the thick of a tussle for a Playoff place but made a big step forward tonight by gaining a point at Leicester, something very few teams do. Exactly as they did on their last visit in 2019, Monarchs top two clinched the point with a last heat 5-1.

The What the Fork Monarchs will take an 18 point lead to Birmingham for the second leg of the Knockout Cup quarter final after an enjoyable match at Armadale tonight.

Edinburgh's mid-season slump continues to cause concern with Birmingham becoming the latest team to avoid departing Armadale empty-handed. You have to go back to August 13th for the last time the Monarchs recorded a home win although of the three fixtures raced since then, only Poole emerged victorious.

This week it is Knockout Cup action at Armadale, the quarter final tie between the What the Fork Monarchs and the Birmingham Brummies. The teams qualified for this stage by beating Newcastle and Redcar respectively in the previous round, and the winners will meet Glasgow in the semi-final.
