Work is continuing at Armadale Stadium to ensure that the Stadium is in order for Friday's opening meeting.

Many people have expressed the wish to come out and help, and thanks to the generosity of Derek Wilkinson of Duddingston Private Hire there will be free transport available.

The main requirement is for helpers to wield paint brushes and hammers.

If it fits with people's requirements, Derek will be at Waterloo Place at 9.30am on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday to bus helpers to the track.

We appreciate that people may want to go out at different times and from different starting points, but if Derek's offer suits you then please contact us by emailing Mike Hunter (mike.hunter@edinburghspeedway.com) so that we can co-ordinate the effort.

(Derek Wilkinson, incidentally, is the man who raised the League Championship flag in 2003).
