AMAZING WIN AT NEWCASTLE

The Scotwaste Monarchs amazed everyone with a superb fighting show to come back from ten down and grab a 47-46 win at the home of the Premier Trophy section favourites Newcastle.

Trailing 13-23 after 6 races, it looked like a damage limitation exercise, but this team have a fighting spirit that will be of great value as the season progresses.

William Lawson was the inspiration, riding the inside line in a way that no-one else could match. But it was new boy Henrik Moller who really turned the match, coming up with stunning paid wins in heats 11 and 13 and eclipsing anything he had achieved previously.

After Rusty Harrison and William Lawson had coolly shared the final heat for victory, the whole team was out on track to congratulate them. A great result, a stunning result indeed, and strong suggestions now that we have a team which can go places.
