DEFEATED BY ONE POINT AGAIN

The Scotwaste Monarchs frustratingly lost by one point for the second match running when they went down 44-45 at Redcar.

There were no complaints when Workington won on Friday, but tonight's defeat was very unlucky. Rusty Harrison was ill with a chest infection and in hindsight should not have ridden, while the last heat decision to exclude William Lawson seemed very unfair.

Considering our top man of last season scored just one point and was struggling to hold his machine, the performance of the others was very good indeed. Henrik Moller beat Havelock in heat 1 and set a track record, Derek Sneddon won four heats in his 13 point score and both William and Matthew rode very well.

After a slow start Theo got himself in the groove, and we were actually never behind until that fateful final heat.
