A wet, cold Friday didn't stop the match against the Isle of Wight going ahead at Armadale.

It did affect conditions though, as the track staff had to work hard before and during the event to make the circuit raceable.

In the circumstances the riders put on a good show, and it took Monarchs a few heats to establish control - after Theo Pijper had fallen in heat 1, the home side didn't take the lead until heat 6.

Eventually Monarchs pulled away to win 56-35 with Rusty Harrison scoring a paid maximum and winning the Halmond Engineering Monarch of the Match.
