This will no doubt always be remembered as the match at which we had to wait nearly two hours for heat 1.

Nothing kills enthusiasm more speedily than delays, and this was a corker.

Passing quickly onwards, when we did start the regular watering which had taken place had left the track quite damp. Theo and Matthew took advantage of this to head Lyons quite comfortably, until unfortunately Matthew hit the fence at the end of the third lap.

A good chance lost, but we did take the lead in heat 2 when Derek won again, and Sean passed Burchatt for the point.

Bike problems for Henrik limited his participation in heat 3, leaving Matthew to split the Kings by passing Jason. Fairly obviously Daniel K was in for a good one.

The next four heats were shared, including an excellent Werner v Sneddon battle (heat 4), and after supplying the first two race winners, the next 8 all went to the Fen Tigers.

Heats 8 to 10 were killers for us as we dropped from 21-21 to 25-35.

Ah well, TR time again. Theo has a great black and white record and sure enough, again he made a start while on double points to lead home Brundle. William took third place ahead of the previously unbeaten Werner to give us a 7-2.

We were now five down and shared heat 12. We did manage one more heat winner (total 4) in the shape of Derek in heat 14, completing a good personal day (and weekend) for him.

It was Mildenhall's highest home league score of the season, and if it was a chance for us, we spurned it over our usual problemn section of the match, ie the second half.
