We lost the Spring Trophy on aggregate but there were lively performances from Derek Sneddon and Ronnie Correy as consolation.

Oddly enough five of the six riders managed a race win, and no 7 Andrew Tully had a good second, so there was something for everyone in a performance which was probably better than our low-key Armadale efforts.

Ronnie Correy beat Parker in his first ride, and Stancl in his second, then suffered engine failure in his next two - but we had seen enough to be confident that he is a classy performer.

Derek Sneddon had one of his best meetings for us, winning heat 2, then heading Parker for much of heat 6, and beating Stancl in heat 9. He was the obvious choice for a tactical ride and took 4 from heat 12, then was involved in our fortunate heat 14 5-1.

The riders we needed more from were William Lawson and Henrik Moller. They should be riding as heat leaders but didn't look like it often enough. Henrik actually did the fastest time of the day in heat 5 but did precisely nothing else.

We never threatened to gain a victory and let Tigers' lesser lights have far too easy an afternoon, but on a sunny day (with the times curiously slow) it was not all doom and gloom.
