The Scotwaste Monarchs gained an excellent victory over Glasgow, and were rather more dominant than the 47-42 scoreline suggests.

They led from the opening heat in which the inspirational Ronnie Correy passed George Stancl down the back straight.

Correy showed abundant class and also easily beat Shane Parker in heat 10. He unluckily lost his maximum when a chain came off on the second bend as he seemed to be in position to go ahead once again.

That wasn't Monarchs only chain problem - Andrew Tully came down in heat two when on a comfortable 5-1 with Derek Sneddon, and it took Andrew a couple more rides to recover, before he clinched the win in a 5-1 with Daniele Tessari in heat 14.

Tessari was another of the night's successes, as were Henrik Moller and Matthew Wethers.

The only concern after their best display of the season was that Derek Sneddon came down heavily in heat 14 when David McAllan slid off right in front of him. Derek went to hosptial complaining of back and leg pins.

Further news on Derek will be posted as it becomes available.
