George Stancl has won the Ashfield Classic, becoming the first Edinburgh winner of the competition.

Stancl romped away with the final after topping the qualifying scorers. He dropped his only point to Jason Lyons but scored 14, and headed home Sitera, Nieminen and Lyons in the decider.

Derek Sneddon also did well, including wins over Lyons and James Wright on his way to 9 points, but a fall in his second ride cost him a semi final place.

Winner Stancl raced without a race jacket, but borrowed a Monarchs race jacket for the presentation.

Czech rider Filip Sitera provided a lot of excitement and deserved his second place in a meeting completed in under 2 hours.
