NO JOY AT WORKINGTON

Workington had vowed to gain revenge for their big defeat at Armadale in front of the Sky cameras, and to some extent they did in beating us 53-39 on Saturday.

As in the recent Fours, the track was very slick and we knew we had to get out of the starts. We didn't do it often enough.

Ryan Fisher was our star performer with four wins and some exciting riding.

Andrew Tully managed two victories including a third-to-first burst in heat 2. But the killer fact was that we had twelve last places in the 15 heats, not winning form on the night.

Our guest rider Kyle Legault gave us a decent performance for 12 points, though he didn't win a heat.

Comets' Kauko Nieminen scored a 15 point maximum.
