William Lawson makes his second appearance in the Premier League Riders' Championship at Owlerton Stadium on Sunday (4pm).

He rode in the 2006 final as a late replacement for Theo Pijper and did reasonably well in spite of not really having a suitable engine ready.

This year's event has also come round quickly, just a fortnight after his return from injury, and in additiuon he has not received his favoured motor from his tuner.

However the form of his last couple of meetings suggests that he is back in the groove and could give a good account of himself.

The field looks like one of the strongest ever to race in the event with Ulrich Ostergaard, Jason Doyle, Tai Woffinden, Kauko Nieminen, Jason Lyons and Andre Compton amongst the favourites.
