Monarchs turned on the style one last time for 2008 as they defeated Glasgow 64-26 to resoundingly win the Scottish Cup for the 21st time.

Tigers' team looked good on paper but Monarchs destroyed them.

Although none of the home men finished the match unbeaten, all were in great form. There was some good racing as James Grieves and Michal Makovsky made the start and the home men tried to battle past.

Perhaps the heat that was most memorable was heat 5 with James Grieves on a TR. He led most of the way but Matthew Wethers and Andrew Tully came through in the closing stages for a 5-1.

Monarchs kept up the pressure throughout and finished with a 5-1 from the top two on the night, Fisher and Tully.

Theo Pijper made a one night return, won his opening heat and finished with a creditable 7.
