Matthew Wethers will lead the 2009 Scotwaste Monarchs as they try to defend the triple haul of national trophies which came their way last season.

The team enjoyed probably the warmest Press & Practise day they have ever had at Armadale as they went through their paces. They all seemed to enjoy it other than maybe Andrew who came off a couple of times.

He was decked out in this season's colours and looked very smart, but apparently tight kevlars were a problem for him.

Matthew will assume the captaincy in his usual relaxed manner. He said ?I feel very lucky to have been chosen because there are seven guys there all doing their best. Last season was great but I believe we can all continue to improve and get the job done.?

The personalised race jackets for 2009 with riders' names, faces and action shot were on show for the first time and had the fans talking.

The seven team men were joined on the track by young Greg Blair who looked handy during his sessions.
