The Scotwaste Monarchs won a rather scrappy match against Redcar by 57-35 and moved further ahead in the northern Premier Trophy table.

The 6-man team scored solidly throughout against a Redcar team which didn't come up to expectations. The Bears had only three heat winners with only Gary Havelock managing double figures, and even he has had better nights at Armadale.

All of the home riders won a race, though Matthew Wethers had some machine problems and Andrew Tully missed his final ride, not yet fully recovered from his shoulder injury.

The meeting started with a minute's silence for the late Michael Jonasson, and the shock of his passing was still in many people's heads during the night.
