KEVIN OUT WITH A HAND INJURY

NEWS Monday 26th October 2009, 10:57am

by Mike Hunter

Scotwaste Monarchs' Kevin Wolbert has hurt his hand in his last heat at Belle Vue and may have broken a finger. He will miss Wednesday's visit to King's Lynn and possibly the restaging of Belle Vue's visit on Friday as well.

This is obviously a bitter blow and with Michal Rajkowski out as well, Monarchs will use a guest plus rider replacement for the Cup second leg match.

Kevin's clutch disintegrated on the first corner of heat 15 at Kirkmanshulme Lane and he came down heavily. On Tuesday morning his hand had swollen and a broken finger is a possibility.

Kevin has already signed on for the 2010 season and the club wishes to thank everyone who has responded to the request for sponsors to assist with his signing. More than half the proposed amount of sponsorship has been raised.
