Our depeleted team were well beaten in the second leg of the KO Cup final in spite of brilliant performances by Ryan Fisher and Kalle Katajisto.

The 57-33 scoreline made it 98-81 on aggregate, and probably everyone felt this was the likely outcome when we knew that Kevin Wolbert would not be at the Norfolk Arena.

However we did have the pleasure of seeing Ryan turn in one of his best performances of the season. He dropped just a single point to Schramm in a torrid heat 5, and won four heats in all including a great win from the back against Ty Proctor.

Katajisto was again remarkable for such an inexperienced rider, winning heat 14 from Schramm and turning in exciting rides all night. He lost a steel shoe in heat 12 and had a machine problem in the last heat, or he may have scored more.

There was not enough support. The middle pairing were not a success, and Aaron Summers was well of the pace as he had been on Monday at Belle Vue.

Guest Luke Bowen is not a Norfolk Arena specialist but no-one could fault him for effort.

King's Lynn take the plaudits and deservedly so. It would be nice to meet them head to head with full teams, good tracks and non-controversial refereeing. Maybe next year.
