Scotwaste Monarchs' club chairman Alex Harkess has been voted in as the B.S.P.A. Chairperson at the commencement of the promoters' conference today.

It is the first time a Scot has held the position, and recognises Alex's reputation as one of the most sensible voices at promotorial level. Alex replaces Peter Toogood who has stood down.

Co-promoter John Campbell reported the appointment and was clearly very pleased for his long-time fellow promoter.

The management committee who will work with Alex are Poole's Matt Ford as vice-chairman with Lakeside's Jon Cook, Jonathan Chapman of King's Lynn and Sheffield's Neil Machin the other committee members.

Tony Mole is the new B.S.P.A. president succeeding Terry Russell.

Alex did admit recently that the Charman's position was something of a daunting task to undertake, but he has decided to take it on. Everyone at Armadale will be delighted and will wish him well.
