"After a truly memorable display at the Scotwaste Arena on Friday night when he dropped only one point out of twenty one and equalled the track record, Kalle Katajisto has changed his plans for next week's meeting.

Kalle is part of the Finland Under 21 team that is racing in the semi final of the World Under 21 Team Cup at Pilzen, Czech Republic next Saturday. Originally he planned to travel back to Finland on Tuesday and travel with his Dad, Timo, by road to the Czech Republic. However, he has now changed his plans and now intends to fly out from Manchester Airport early on Saturday morning to the Czech Republic. Although a far superior outcome for the Club it does create a problem

Chairman Alex Harkess explains, "Kalle had a super night at Armadale on Friday night and really enjoyed himself. Of course everyone enjoyed watching him also and that has influenced his decision to stay next Friday and help out the team again. It's not a Club versus Country thing it's Club and Country and we're delighted. It does mean that he will have to leave his Edinburgh home early on Saturday morning to get to Manchester Airport to fly at half past seven. We need help though. I'd like to put out a call to anyone who would be prepared to drive Kalle to Manchester in time for that flight. We'll cover all the expenses we just need the car and driver. Anyone who can help should get in touch as soon as possible."

Anyone who can help should contact the Club on 01501 734404 at any time or email info@edinburghspeedway.com
