Sainbury's planning application to build a supermarket on Armadale Stadium has been rejected by West Lothian Council.

Said Scotwaste Monarchs co-promoter, John Campbell, who attended the meeting in Livingston, "As a Club we are very disappointed with the outcome of this application. We believed that with Sainsbury's support we could have put in place a wonderful set up at South Couston. Without Sainsbury's support it becomes more difficult but we will not give up on our plans to give the Scotwaste Monarchs a future in West Lothian. We need a day or two to consider our options."

This story will devlop over the next few days.
