The Scotwaste Monarchs never cease to amaze, and tonight they have hammered Rye House 55-35 on their own track with a performance that ranks with anything we have ever done.

It was a 7-man show with everyone riding extremely well. We supplied 11 heat winners, and that should have been 12 - Andrew beat Linus Sundstrom fair and square in heat 4 only for it to be spotted that he had forgotten to fit his dirt deflector. Sundstrom was the only Rocket who wasn't misfiring, and it took a great ride by Ryan Fisher in heat 13 to stop his winning run.

We made an amazing start, taking a 5-1 through Ryan and the excellent Tobias in heat 1, a 4-2 in heat 2 won by Kalle, then another 5-1 in heat 3 from Kevin and Matthew. 14-4!

Then came Andrew's disappointment in heat 4, but never at any time did we look anything other than certain victors.

One factor in the match was the pre-match shower which lasted from about 5:15 to 5:45 and was quite heavy while it lasted. The track was a bit like a Friday night at Armadale after a tea time shower, and our boys attacked it and got on with the job. The Rockets in contrast looked nervous of their own track surface and didn't have the heart for the fight.

What can we say about the side? Katajisto - brilliant. Wolbert - brilliant. Tully - brilliant. Fisher, apart from one wobbly ride - brilliant.

New boy Tobias Busch - what a show! In heat 11 he swept past Sundstrom on the outside of the second corner, where there was some real drive, and led the home star for over two laps. He is a real find.

Matthew Wethers - cool as ever. Max Dilger - battled hard for his points.

Whatever next? Who knows, but once again, let's just enjoy the ride.
