Scotwaste Monarchs visit to the Oak Tree Arena was a victim of the weather on Wednesday but now the team must look forward to a very important league match against the Rebels at the Scotwaste Arena on Friday.

What seemed to be the inevitable telephone call came through just before nine thirty on Wednesday morning with Somerset Promoter Debbie Hancock informing us that the forecast heavy rain was already falling and the match was off. September 15 is the rescheduled date.

Said John Campbell, "The early call off stopped me and some of the team travelling but with the distance involved Kalle and Matthew had stayed overnight in the midlands and William was already well past Carlisle. Kevin was also flying into Stansted so Kryz had to make the trip down there to pick him up and Arlo was also already on the road. Not a perfect situation but that speedway and the British weather."

Now all eyes are on Friday night when Somerset are the visitors. It's an opportunity for the Scotwaste Monarchs to secure more league points but the Rebels challenge is not being taken lightly.

Alex Harkess commented, "Every match is important to us now and the Rebels are sure to give us a good run. Shane Parker has been one of the consistently best visitors to our track for a number of ears and Cory Gathercole was outstanding last year. They have excellent back up and even have the winner of a Monarch of the Match at reserve in Kyle Howarth. We'll really have to be careful not to throw away any silly race points and I hope that we get a big turnout to cheer on the points. We need eight league points to be sure of being Champions and there are three on offer here."

With a big crowd expected supporters are asked to get to the stadium as early as possible.
