Scotwaste Monarchs have lost their battle to have Kevin W?lbert ride for the team against Stoke at Armadale on Friday night. Instead he will be riding in Germany for his local team, Gustrow, in a vital Bundesliga match against Landshut.

It is the match that was due to take place on 27 August, when Kevin was at Armadale, and was rained off.

Said Monarchs Chairman, Alex Harkess, " We have had lengthy discussions with Torsten Jurn, the Gustrow team manager, Manfred Wirth of DMSB, the German Federation and Kevin's own manager, Jan Sievers, but we have made little headway in persuading Torsten and Manfred that Kevin should be here.

"Unfortunately we do not have a Federation agreement with Germany as we do with Denmark and Sweden. If we had there is no doubt that Kevin would be at Armadale. We have now been told that if Kevin does not ride at Gustrow he will be banned from riding anywhere in the world on Friday. You can't really argue with that.

"It is very disappointing as Kevin himself, wanted to be at Armadale."
