The Scotwaste Monarchs made light of the absence of Kevin Wolbert to easily beat Stoke 58-32 in their final home league match, taking the champions' points total to 72 with only the away match at Somerset remaining.

All Monarchs' experienced men were on song with paid maximums for Ryan Fisher, Matthew Wethers and Andrew Tully, and just a point each dropped by Kalle Katajisto and William Lawson. For William it was probably his best meeting since rejoining Monarchs, even allowing for poor opposition.

On the Stoke side, Ricky Wells and Taylor Poole were worth watching on their Armadale debuts, and Lee Smart was unlucky. He won heat 3, but crashed into the fence in heat 7 when on a TR and was not quite the same thereafter.

Best heat of a fairly one-sided match was the last one in which Matthew Wethers stalked Wells for three laps before making a lovely outside pass.
