The Premier League Trophy will be presented to the champions on Friday, and Monarchs co-promoter, John Campbell has called on all supporters to turn out and get behind the team as they try to build a big lead over Workington Comets in the first leg of the Knock Out Cup Semi Final.

Said Campbell, "Surprisingly, although it was the first time the team had appeared as league champions at home, we had our lowest crowd since the beginning of July. Perhaps some of our supporters felt that there were more important matches coming up.

"In my mind there is nothing more important that the match against Workington on Friday. I'm really keen that we win the Knock Out Cup this year. Our record in the competition is not great and we have to go away back to 1999 since we last won it. That's surprising as the best years in the Club's history have been the last seven."

"The riders were telling me how wonderful it was when the "wall of sound" hit them as the passed the fourth bend enclosure at Glasgow last week. Our youngest rider and most recent signing, Ashley Morris, couldn't believe it. He hadn't heard anything like it in his short speedway career.

"I'm sure we can get the same kind of atmosphere under our 1st/2nd bend and back straight enclosures on Friday and I'm confident that will add a point or two to our score. I would urge everyone to turn out on Friday to roar the team towards the Knock Out Cup Final."

Final preparations are being made for the presentation of the Premier League Trophy to the team and further announcements will be made later in the week.
