The Scottish clubs are to the fore as we announce a further three contenders for the David Harrison Ford Scottish Open – the captain of the Scotwaste Monarchs Matthew Wethers, plus Glasgow Tigers’ James Grieves and Josh Grajczonek.

Naturally in the Scottish Open we like to have as many Scots as possible so we are always pleased to have James Grieves competing. James has ridden in the event eight times and hasn’t always enjoyed the best of luck, his best night being a third place back in 1998.

He is still a top notch rider though and will certainly be a contender again.

His young Aussie team mate Josh Grajczonek hasn’t ridden in a Scottish Open before, and up till now hasn’t lived up to his potential at Armadale. However he is highly talented and Tigers have high hopes for him this season.

The home skipper Matthew Wethers has been gradually improving his Scottish Open record and was a finalist last season. He would love to win the event in his tenth and Testimonial season.

The intention is to announce the final three riders for the event at the Monarchs’ press launch on Friday.
