In the week of the big Scottish Knock-out Cup ties, Glasgow’s top two riders have shown that it’s not all about rivalry by putting their names down for the Stormy Wethers Testimonial at Armadale on Friday 17th August.

Joe hasn’t had too many meetings against his rival captain Matthew but he says “I’ve spent a bit of time with him when I do my bikes at Ross Brady’s as I have a few times.

“He’s a quiet lad till you get to know him, but he’s a very helpful lad and he has been helpful to me, so I’m very happy to ride for him.”

James has crossed swords with Matthew more often and he says “Matthew rode in my meeting in 2010 and I’m very happy to return the compliment. I’ve known Matthew for a good while, he’s quite a deep person, it’s not always easy to get a conversation out of him!

“On the bike though he’s quite a tough cookie, a hard but fair rider. A good all-round bloke.”

A quiz and disco for the Stormy Wethers Testimonial will be held this Saturday at the Clermiston Inn (7:30).
