Scotwaste Monarchs’ star Andrew Tully rode well in the weekend matches which saw Monarchs move into sixth place in the Premier League – but this was in spite of a damaging theft of equipment suffered on Friday.

“I lost a speedway bike, a BMX bike and two of Adam McKinna’s mountain bikes were stolen. The speedway bike was the one I use at Armadale.

“My BMX and the other bikes aren’t important but losing my speedway bike has been giving me nothing but headaches since I opened my garage on Friday morning.

“Wherever it is sitting, it can’t be used because it hasn’t got clutch plates in it. It’s no use to anyone, but it is my livelihood.”

Andrew, the reigning Scottish Open Champion, still has one machine left which the thieves didn’t get, but it is the one he uses for the bigger tracks away from Armadale.

He added “Several of my friends in speedway have given me the offer of loans of equipment which of course I am very grateful for. But I’d still like to think there might be a chance of getting my own bike back.”

Andrew’s next meetings for the team are at Ipswich (Thursday) and Armadale (Friday) against the same opposition. The Witches are probably Monarchs’ main rivals for the sixth Playoff qualifying position.
