It seems that Jozsef Tabaka is not as badly injured as we first feared. A visit to hospital on Monday has confirmed that he has a foot injury but the damage should not keep him out of action for many weeks.

Said Jozsef from his home in Hungary, “The doctor says I relax for two weeks and I good to go. I get better each day and I try everything to ride on 28 June. It maybe too quick but I hope that I race again in July.”

That’s good news for the Scotwaste Monarchs as Jozsef’s first report had said that he had broken his leg. It now appears that it is a damaged foot that is the problem and a recovery timescale reducing from six to eight weeks to two to three weeks is a real boost to the Club.

In Jozsef’s absence the Scotwaste Monarchs will use rider replacement and that gives extra rides to Derek Sneddon, Max Fricke and our stand in reserve so it will not be easy in Jozsef’s absence with matches against Workington and Leicester, two of the top teams in the League.
