Our top man had the honour of representing Team Great Britain at King's Lynn in the World Cup, and scored 4 points.

He has regrettably been told that he is dropped from the team for the Playoff at Prague on Thursday, with Ben Barker and Lewis Bridger coming in for Craig and Edward Kennett.

I think all of us who have watched Craig this season know that the team manager should be persevering with him - one match is hardly enough. However it's also true that Craig wasn't at his best at Saddlebow Road.

Craig's points came by beating Gino Manzares, Daniel Nermark (a last corner pass) and Ricky Wells, plus a non-finisher.

We have still to get Craig's own thoughts, but the track looked heavy in the early heats, and he didn't produce his usual fast gating other than in his fourth ride when he challenged Niels-Kristian Iversen into the first corner.

Even had it meant him missing our matches this week, all Monarchs' fans wanted Craig to show the GB hierarchy how good he is. Let's hope they keep watching. His chance to ride for his country must surely come again.
