Every year we appear to be getting earlier and earlier in announcing our fixture list and we’re a week ahead of last year in publishing the 2014 list today.

The Scotwaste Monarchs can look forward to a schedule of at least 18 official fixtures spread over Premier League, League Cup and Knock Out Cup matches together with the season opening air fence challenge against Glasgow and the Scottish Open this year pencilled in for 1st August.

After the season opening Air Fence fundraiser against Glasgow on 28th March we move into the League Cup fixtures against our Northern rivals at Berwick, Workington and Glasgow. There are three groups in this season’s qualifying section with the winners progressing to the semi-finals with the best runners up joining them. With Workington, looking to be one of the strongest teams in the league, in our section we’ll need to be in top form from the outset to qualify for the next stage.

Our Premier League campaign kicks off against Sheffield on 25th April and we will race the other 12 teams in the league once and Glasgow and Newcastle for a second time to make up the fourteen home fixtures that the BSPA AGM last November agreed would be the required number in 2014.

A top six placing is again the requirement to qualify for the Play Offs and the qualifying groups will be staged in mid September this year. All teams have the first two weeks in October set aside for the Play Off Finals.

Our greatest wish would be to win the Knock Out Cup in 2014 and we commence our challenge with a quarter final tie against Berwick or Sheffield at the beginning of June. If we overcome the Bandit/Tiger hurdle then it is possible that Glasgow will be our semi final opponents.

If we fail to progress in any competition then we will stage at least twenty fixtures in 2014 at Armadale. If we qualify to the final of every competition then we will stage at least twenty seven fixtures. No matter what happens it will be another exciting year at Armadale.
