We are now entering a critical period as we make the final push to raise the necessary funds to have our airfence in position for the start of the new season now just five weeks away.

We are very hopeful that the Brief History of Speedway Racing in Edinburgh at Meggetland on 14th March will add significantly to the fund and although tickets have been selling very well for this event we still have a number available for what promises to be an evening full of interest and nostalgia.

Our air fence panels have now been fully taken up by supporters and businesses who have agreed to donate towards the cost of the panel. We will be contacting all those involved shortly for the wording to placed in their recognition panel attached to the fence. Equally we will be looking for details from those who have taken out the full advertising panel.

Geoff Craythorne, all round sportsman, famous for previously organising the running team that raised some funds for the Monarchs is now planning an even bigger sojourn in his fund raising efforts for the air fence. Everest was in his thoughts or, as some people have said, his dreams. He's now picked out an alternative hill and will now be climbing Ben Nevis later this year. More details to follow and all who wish to join him will be made welcome.

One or two other ideas are still in the pipeline and we hope to bring details of these within the next seven days.

One of our early fundraisers was the Scotwaste Monarchs 2014 calendar. With just 16% of the year gone the price of the calendar has been reduced by a massive 50%. The remaining calendars can be purchased through the Club Shop for £3 plus postage.

The Air Fence Fund has continued to increase since the beginning of this month and now stands at £14,097.90. We are on target for a successful conclusion to this fund raising effort. Thanks to all for their efforts.
