We are now just hours away from tonight's speedway season opener in Scotland when the Glasgow Tigers visit Armadale to face the Scotwaste Monarchs in the Air Fence Challenge.

We are expecting a very big crowd to greet the Tigers and our brand new air fence. Both teams also show substantial changes to their line ups from last season so fans will have their first chance to see the new faces in action.

Said Scotwaste Monarchs co-promoter, John Campbell, "We have had our highest ever sale of advance tickets for a team match at Armadale and that would appear to indicate that there is huge interest in the fixture. Of course it is a big part of our fund raising for the air fence and I hope that we will reach our target tonight."

Campbell added, "I'd advise everyone to get there early. The admission gates open at 6.30pm and we usually get really busy at about seven o'clock. I'd expect the stadium car parks to be full fifteen or twenty minutes before start time."

Admission to the match is by donation to the air fence fund of, at least, the normal admission price but anyone who wishes to make an additional donation, large or small, can do so as there will be buckets at every gate for these donations.

Anyone who wishes to purchase a season ticket will be able to do so within the stadium with a refund of tonight's admission being offered.

The final copies of the Scotwaste Monarchs 2014 calendar will also be on sale priced at only £1.
