"A depleted Newcastle Diamonds will arrive at Armadale on Friday evening but their four main men will be there and will be keen to sparkle.

Aaron Fox has confirmed on Thursday evening that he will be taking his place in the Scotwaste Monarchs line-up on Friday evening. He reports some bruising but feels that the skin on his gash is healing well although he does plan to have the leg well protected during racing. Said Aaron, "I've been down to the local hardware store and got myself a roll of what I think you call it duck tape. I'll wrap that round my thigh and I'll be fine."

The depleted Diamonds look like they will be even more shorthanded. Their injury doubt, Lewis Rose, did not ride in the Elite League on Thursday and that would suggest that he is extremely doubtful for Friday. In his absence the Diamonds will use rider replacement giving extra rides to Lewis Kerr and the reserves.

Who will be the reserves remains to be seen. Dan Greenwood will be one, for sure, but they had called in Redcar's Luke Crang as a guest. Luke took a tumble at Redcar on Thursday evening and ended up having a ride in the County Ambulance. That certainly puts him in the doubtful category for Friday.

However, the four main Diamonds will be in action and Danny King, Ludvig Lindgren, Stuart Robson and Lewis Kerr have all performed very well at Armadale in the past.

Sam Masters had a guest booking at Swindon on Thursday evening but he only got as far as Wolverhampton before he received the phonecall to tell him the match as off. With his ace mechanic, Sedgy, he turned to come home. Only 600 miles for nothing, but that's speedway. That rain-off also gave Stevie Worrall a rare night off.
