NEXT STOP - NEWCASTLE

PREVIEW Sunday 1st June 2014, 1:16pm

by Toby Lerone

  Edinburgh Monarchs

The Scotwaste Monarchs hit the road again on Sunday with the relatively short journey to Newcastle in search of more Premier league points.

The Newcastle Stadium has always been a relatively happy hunting ground for the Monarchs and recent team changes for the Diamonds seemed initially to weaken their team but another change for tonight's meeting has now added a bit of strength at reserve.

Scotwaste Monarchs will be without Aaron Fox again. After Friday's match at Armadale he went back to hospital and feels that, on this occasion, he has been given the correct advice. He has another hospital appointment on Tuesday for a progress report. However, it looks like he will miss next Friday's League Cup semi Final against Sheffield.

Recent big signing, Danny King, really hit top form last week losing just once and that after he had touched the tapes and started off a handicap. Lewis Kerr, who is very much the man of the moment in all leagues, also dropped just one point last week as the Diamonds defeated Ipswich. They add Chris Mills to their team tonight and have Oliver Greenwood as a guest for Chris Schramm.

The Scotwaste Monarchs line up in their normal order with Cradley's Danny Phillips stepping in to replace Aaron Fox.

The action gets underway at 6.30pm.
