BIG NIGHT COMING UP

We're less than twenty four hours away from, perhaps, the biggest night of our season so far with the first leg of the League Cup semi final against Sheffield coming up at Armadale on Friday evening.

Thankfully after more than 24 hours the heavy rain has relented. This rainfall will prove to be a real advantage in preparing the track for Friday's action. There is no better way to get moisture into the track than by natural means and with the rain going off long before the event there will be no problems with standing water on the track and we hope to provide an excellent racing surface.

Advance ticket sales, so far, would suggest that the Scotwaste Monarchs wish of having a big crowd to back them will come true and that is very pleasing for everyone in the Monarchs camp.

Aaron Fox is not fit to take his place in the team, although he does expect to be back next week, and Cradley's Max Clegg once again is due to replace him. Unfortunately he has taken a tumble at Swindon earlier this evening and had to withdraw from the meeting. Hopefully he will be fit to take his place tomorrow.

After so many weeks of rain, tomorrow's visitors Sheffield have managed a meeting at their Owlerton home tonight and scored a confidence boosting 52-41 win over the Glasgow Tigers. Simon Stead scored a full maximum so hopefully he will provide some exciting racing at Armadale tomorrow.

Further down the road Sam Masters and Stevie Worrall have been in opposition in an Elite League match at Swindon. Stevie scored 14+2 from his 7 rides for the home team and Sam got 3 from his 4 rides for Leicester.
