Plymouth Devils will travel north from their north east of England base on Friday without Kalle Katajisto.

Kalle crashed in the Devils home meeting last Friday and withdrew from the meeting and although he then travelled back to Finland and top scored in a match there, including winning the last heat in one of the fastest times of the day, the wrist injury he sustained at Plymouth has prevented him from returning to ride this week. Already without the injured Adam Roynon the Devils can use a guest and have chosen wisely in recruiting Belle Vue's Michael Palm Toft.

After a good start at Redcar on Thursday evening, being only six points down after nine races, the Devils efforts petered out and they lost 52 to 40. Ben Barker top scored with 14 and he received good support from Sam Simota on 11 and Palm Toft on 8.

Down at Swindon Stevie Worrall scored ten points for the Robins but that could not prevent then slipping to a one point defeat after being fourteen points up at one stage.

The Scotwaste Monarchs will be at Sheffield next Thursday in the second leg of the League Cup semi final and tonight the Tigers have been in action against Scunthorpe. It's not been a good night for the Tigers going down to their nearest rivals by 49 to 41.
