With Workington beaten both home and away by Peterborough in the semi-final of the League Cup, we now know that we face the Panthers over two legs in the final.

Sadly, they will be without the services of their number one Ryan Fisher who is out with a shoulder injury and awaiting surgery. Many Monarchs fans will be disappointed at not seeing him back at Armadale especially when he had two falls on his last visit. We are, of course, down at the East of England Showground this coming Sunday on league business after the original match was postponed back in early May. It will be good practise for the League Cup final as some of our lads won't have ridden there before. If you are going then remember the starting time is 5pm. Their fixture list shows a British 125cc Championship meeting at 2.30 that same afternoon. I don't know if that will be two seperate admissions or just the one!

Before the trip to Alwalton, we have a jaunt down to Berwick on Saturday evening for the first leg of the Premier League Knock-out Cup semi-final. They will be wanting revenge for the defeat back in May when we beat them by four points in the League Cup. I would expect that we'll have the usual large travelling support. This is another timely bit of track time before we go down to Shielfield in August for the Sky match. That's one I'm looking forward to!

Like most of you, I watched both televised events at the weekend but must confess that I much more enjoyed the Pairs coverage. Not just because we won but all-in-all it was better presented. Maybe just me but I thought the start line camera work at Cardiff was poor with some starts missed and I couldn't hear the presenters for the background noise! (Some might say not a bad thing!) I think they would have been better in a booth as other sports do. To finish my rant, I can also remember the time when there was dirt on a speedway track. Maybe they should have had the roof open and watered the track! What do I know!Anyhow, there was no missing the Monarchs fans at both meetings! There were plenty of shots of the usual suspects at Somerset. Didn't Alex have a huge grin?

It seems ages since we saw action at Armadale but this Friday it's the return of the Workington Comets. It's also Superheroes night with the first 25 who are suitably dressed as their favourite hero being awarded a free VIP upgrade. Ed's looking forward to help pick the best so get your thinking caps on and see what you can come up with. I might come dressed as my pub landlord. He's my superhero!!! Till Friday, be good and take care.
