Having successfully topped the league table at cut-off date, securing all thirteen points league points available to them last weekend in the process, the Scotwaste Monarchs launch into the Play-Offs this weekend that will, ultimately, decide the Premier League winners.

The Monarchs have been drawn in a group with Berwick and Workington and the winners of this group will meet the winners of the Ipswich, Scunthorpe and Somerset group in October to decide the League Winners. The Scotwaste Monarchs race their first two group matches against Berwick at Armadale on Friday and at Berwick on Saturday.

THE TEAMS FOR THE PREMIER PLAY-OFF MATCH AT ARMADALE ON FRIDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER (start time 7.30, doors open 6.30) are:

SCOTWASTE MONARCHS: Craig Cook, Justin Sedgmen, Max Fricke, Stevie Worrall, Sam Masters, Aaron Fox, Derek Sneddon (captain)

BERWICK BANDITS: Claus Vissing, Steen Jensen(rider replacement), Kevin Doolan, David Bellego, Matej Kus, Alex Edberg, Matthew Wethers (captain)

BANDITS BUZZING: After an excellent season, finishing third in the league table during the regular season, Berwick are buzzing with excitement about their prospects for the play-offs. However, their form has not been good so far this season at Armadale with two heavy defeats but they do have riders capable of scoring well. Claus Vissing and Matthew Wethers both have great experience of the circuit.

Said Monarchs team captain, Derek Sneddon, “After our record breaking run was ended the boys were a bit deflated but after our results last weekend I think we have all hit form again and there couldn’t be a better time to do so.”

LAST MEETING: The Scotwaste Monarchs were put under real pressure by Newcastle Diamonds before gaining all three league points available to complete the regular season with a 100% home record, the first time that has been done since 2008.

NEXT WEEK: Workington Comets provide the Play-off opposition on Friday 26th September
