The Scotwaste Monarchs got off to a winning start in the premier Play-offs win a comfortable win over Berwick by 54 to 39.

Although the score line was comfortable the Bandits made it far from comfortable on track with Kevin Doolan putting up a great display ably backed by reserves Matthew Wethers and Alex Edberg.

Sam Masters was again in great form for the Monarchs and scored a paid maximum but the food poisoning victim Derek Sneddon was sadly missed. His replacement, Max Clegg, tried hard but failed to scored.

Alex Edberg was a surprise winner of heat 1 and the Bandits raced to a 5-1 in heat 2 to take the lead. The Scotwaste Monarchs gained a5-1 to take the lead in heat 6 and thre more heat advantages followed to give the home teams a ten point lead by heat 9.
