Craig Cook and Stevie Worrall line up in the Premier League Riders Championship at Sheffield this afternoon hoping to bring another title to the Scotwaste Monarchs.

Craig's done it all before and was the winner two years ago but there will be less pressure on him this time as, despite being the top averaged rider in the league by some margin, he is not being tipped as one of the favourites. That situation will suit Craig very much.

It's a new experience for Stevie. He started this season with an average of substantially less than three and has improved that month by month to now be averaging more than 8. It has been a superb season for Stevie and a good result in the PLRC would be the icing on the cake.

So if Craig is not seen as one of the favourites then who is. Reigning champion Olly Allen would certainly have been a favourite but like so many he has chosen to ride in Poland today instead. That makes home star, Simon Stead, the man to beat. Ulrich Ostergaard has been flying for Peterborough recently and the track may well suit him. After that the field looks wide open. Maybe Cookie is a favourite after all?

The meeting gets underway at 5.00pm
