Home favourite Simon Stead won the Premier League Riders Championship at Sheffield on Sunday evening.

Stead beaten just once, in his last qualifying race, to go straight to the final although the top scorer was Newcastle's Danny King.

Craig Cook qualified for the semi final with ten points but did not make the best of starts off the outside and found himself in third place behind Richard Lawson and Ulrich Ostergaard. He tried a wide run off the outside on bend 2 of the second lap but that allowed Stuart Robson through and Craig's evening was over.

In probably the biggest meeting he has ever ridden in, Stevie Worrall finished with three points.
