Although the Play-Off match at Berwick prevented any of the team making the climb the assent of Britain's highest mountain went ahead on Saturday.

Lord Rocket together with Aisha and Olga set out at the crack of dawn for the trip to base camp. The assent started in fine weather at 9.00am and with a quick sprint up the hill and down again they had completed the round trip in just over four hours.

Previously Scott Somerville and Gordon Hudson made the climb and one or two more have still to do it.

A great deal of sponsorship was promised for a successful climb and this will give the Club some very useful funds. If you would still like to donate you can do so at the Club Shop on Friday.
