The Scotwaste Monarchs made a great start to their Premier League Play-offs with home and away wins against Berwick Bandits. This weekend they race home and away matches against the other team in their Play-off Semi Final group, Workington, knowing that by Saturday night a Play-off final place could be secured.

THE TEAMS FOR THE PREMIER PLAY-OFF MATCH AT ARMADALE ON FRIDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER (start time 7.30, doors open 6.30) are:

SCOTWASTE MONARCHS: Craig Cook, Justin Sedgmen, Max Fricke, Stevie Worrall, Sam Masters, Aaron Fox, Derek Sneddon (captain)

WORKINGTON COMETS: Kevin Doolan (guest for Josh Grajczonek), Ricky Wells, Rene Bach(captain), Mason Campton, Kyle Howarth, To be announced, Simon Lambert

ONE FOOT IN THE FINAL: The Scotwaste Monarchs have one foot in the Play-offs Final and will look to complete the job this weekend. Workington just squeezed into the Play-offs but they will be without their number one, Josh Grajczonek who broke a collar bone at Sheffield on Sunday. However, they have selected an excellent guest in Kevin Doolan who did so well last week at Armadale. Ricky Wells and Rene Bach have both had excellent matches at Armadale in the past and Kyle Howarth is a former Monarch.

Monarchs team manager Alex Harkess said, “We know what we have to do. Win by more than six at Armadale on Friday and lose by no more than six at Workington on Saturday. We’ll be trying to do better than that though.”

LAST MEETING: The Scotwaste Monarchs started their Play-Off semi final campaign with home and away wins over Berwick Bandits.

NEXT WEEK: It will be Knock Out Cup semi final action with the opposition to be decided at Glasgow on Sunday when Newcastle will defend a 16 point first leg lead against the local Tigers. The winners will race the Monarchs on Friday 3rd October.
