"Friday night's match at the Oak Tree Arena finally decided who will be our opponents in the Play Off Final for the Premier League Championship and it will be Somerset.

Ipswich made a brave battle of it and were in a qualifying position right up until heat 10 but as has happened so many times at Somerset this season the Rebels pulled away in the last five races and, eventually, won comfortably by 54 to 36.

Both teams suffered injuries during the meeting. Witch Gino Manzares took a tumble in heat 3 and took no further part in the meeting and Pontus Aspgren did the same in heat 5 and withdrew with concussion.

So it's the Monarchs and the Rebels in the Final. Dates will be announced early next week after the second leg of the Knock Out Cup semi final at Newcastle.
